About

A brief history: take a peek!!
Leila
Leila here! A Korean drama addict who loves indie bands and a certified bookworm. Heh, so near of being a geek BUT far from being one! I love writing, even if it doesn’t love me back. And just to make sense out of my drama addiction, I decided to write about it and find sympathy from drama addicts out there.
This site will actually feature a variety of music, films, books and Asian dramas. I am joined by two of my online buddies whom I respect and admire. What better way to share favorites but with my favorites too!
Sit and get to know US, as we share our thoughts, personal opinions and views about almost EVERYTHING we find interesting!!
Clockwatcher
Clockwatcher here! I’ve been a kdrama addict since 2004, a jdrama addict since 2007 and a twdrama watcher from some time in between. I have a lot of opinions and even a lead muzzle can’t shut me up so I’ll be sharing a lot of them here.
I think one of the great things about Couch Kimchi is you’ll get to read the thoughts and opinions of three individuals with very different personalities.
So I hope you enjoy your stay here and remember that no matter how sarcastic or harsh an article might appear, it’s done in good fun.
Goodange
Hey, I’m the lazy one of the bunch. It took me nearly a year to include my segment for this “About” page. Yep, lazy! Okay, hectically busy in real life.
Like Leila, I love underground music and I love books, which I collect. (Yes, I prefer to kill trees rather than own the convenient e-book reader.) Aside from my passion for books and music, I’m a devoted couch potato/kimchi, and it has gotten worse since being christened into the Kdrama world in 2006.
I’m really grateful that Leila rounded us up so that we can share our love for Kdramas and well, Asian entertainment all together. Our authors may not always see eye-to-eye, but it just means we offer insights that are representative of a gamut of viewers.
Please, do enjoy your stay here and hopefully, you’ll grow with us, as we continue to spread our love for Asian entertainment!

Hey, hey……Who is the third member of the Couch Kimchi posse?
LOL, yes, it’s me! Leila has been on me about including my “About” part. Finally up.
it’s goodange aka angelicaknows
Hi there:)
You can call em maylee. I’m from Almaty, Kazakhstan (country, which is close to Russia, China, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan).
I can’t remember exactly how I came up with your blog during my search in internet, but it definitely was regarding some korean drama:)) (i guess, this time it was Dream High)…
I’m a good reader and right now I’m reading almost anything which is somehow dealing with Korea, kpop and korean dramas:)))) So, would u mind if I join your readers’ club?)))
p.s. Hi from Kazakhstan
I know this response is two months late but welcome! And of course you can join our readers club
I’m glad you’ve come to join us! And it is so amazing that we have K-entertainment fans from all over the world. How is it Kazakhstan?
I have started BBJX on ViKi, and it is really good. My first C-drama and I owe it to Yitian.
Is anyone recapping this 35-epi drama?
It looks like Yit might be working on something. You can check out her reply to the post you made yesterday.
Msk, didn’t know this was your first c-drama, now I have extra reason to hope this turns out well (so far – Ep 3- so good!)
I don’t think I’ll manage all 35 episodes but might make plot commentary on the first few and see how it goes.
Anyone out there want to share this drama with me? (Though I can tell Clock you’re up to your ears in dramas!
)
lol, Yit, I don’t watch historical dramas so I can’t help
Besides, I think one drama at a time is enough for me.
I found your blog through electric ground, Ive read a couple of posts and loved the diversity of asian cinema you cover, never thought I’d see bollywood and Kdramas side by side lol. The blog is now officially added to my procrastination list
thanks eshi! will take that as a compliment.. lol.. we love diversity here in CK,, hope you’d enjoy coming back
Are any of yous Korean/Japanese/Taiwanese etc? Or speak any of the languages? Or do yous just watch the dramas with subs? Sorry for asking I just love to know these things – I used to read another site like this and it took me about 3 years to realise the girl was Korean, I thought she was American/English. I love to know peoples nationality.
We’re pretty much a mix here and live in different continents
For instance, one of us lives in Europe, just not sure what her ethnicity is. For sure, one resides in Asia. A couple of us are US residents. One of us is definitely Asian American but can’t speak any Korean, Japanese, or Taiwanese.
I think all of us watch the dramas with subs
Aw okay, thanks
!

Do you love indie music? It is my life! I am so happy I found your site, thanks for sharing
Yes, we do love indie music! Personally, it’s really the only kind I listen to. Sadly, I haven’t done a Music Goodie post in a while. I might do one tonight though. Thanks for finding our site!
